About Steve

I am a very lucky man! I have two beautiful girls ages 7 & 11 and a very supportive and wonderful wife. We live in a small but cozy home on the outskirts of Estacada where we have plenty of room to take family hikes and see all of the amazing things that nature has to offer.

As a child growing up near Salem Oregon I developed a love for many of the hobbies that I still pursue today which include motorcycles, skateboarding, snowboarding and most recently, paragliding.

After meeting my wife in 1995 I began working as an industrial mechanic and electrical apprentice for Precision Cast Parts in Clackamas, OR and that is where I developed my confidence and love for construction. The problem solving skills that I developed by fabricating and repairing every different type of machine imaginable has greatly helped me as a business owner. Since I left PCC in 2006 I have developed a passion for starting and operating businesses. I started Estacada Motor Sports in 2005 and together with my business partner Vince Culp, started Energy Unlimited in 2008. Finding that helping people was what I really enjoyed, I sold Estacada Motor Sports in 2009 to focus on Energy Unlimited and that is my primary focus today.

What do you think the SHS project has brought to the community?

The SHS project has reinforced the notion that supporting local people and businesses is the right thing to do. It has benefited all of the community by providing much needed jobs, and more importantly a place for our future leaders of America to develop their skills.

What are your views on the SHS project?

I believe that the most important thing that a community can do is educate the next generation so that they can continue to make the community a place that we all want to live. The new Sandy High School will give the students the tools they needs to develop into successful individuals and bring prosperity to Sandy in the future so I feel that it is money that is well spent.

Being in the business that I am, I am particularly excited about the energy conserving nature of the SHS project. I think that it is great that the students will learn that you don't have to sacrifice comfort or aesthetics to have an energy efficient environment to learn in.
